John Ferguson is a commercial location and studio portrait photographer and video director based in London & Suffolk. He shoots a diverse range of subjects for commercial, editorial, and corporate clients, all with a clean and elegant aesthetic.

When John was a child playing “Cowboys and Indians” he was told he had to be an Indian because there weren’t any Black Cowboys. Years later as an adult he found out that in fact, that was not true, and began his quest to meet Black Cowboys. John created a project concept, hired a videographer to help him, and produced the first Black Cowboy Documentary “The Forgotten Cowboy”.

Working between his two bases in North London and Ipswich in Suffolk, John’s work has seen him cover a diverse range of subjects, topics, and assignments during his career. Transitioning from a mainly editorial & photojournalistic background, John’s work has seen him move more into the commercial, advertising, and marketing worlds. Working with many bluechip, and a list of other well-known and recognizable clientele.
